About Me
I have been with HPISD since the 1995-1996 school year. I began my career as the MIS technology teacher where I learned to love the students desire to know more. I moved to HPMS in 1998-1999 and learned that the 7th and 8th grade students were my favorite. I earned my Master Degree in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems from UNT in December of 2002. In my desire to encourage my students to learn more, I put the skills learned in my masters courses to work and changed the traditional computer literacy course in to multimedia and an HTML web page class. I also worked with the Art teacher to develop the computer graphics course. In 2006 I was named the CIT for the HPMS campus. While I was excited to be able to share my knowledge with my colleges and through them the students, I was also sad to lose the daily connection to our students. I am always impressed with the determination of the teachers and students to push my technology comfort levels. During the summer of 2008, I participated in the Region 11's Master Technology Teacher program. I completed the program and passed my test in 2008, becoming a Master Technology Teacher for grades EC-12. I work everyday to advance my knowledge of technology. I have found that I am a life-long learner, of all subjects, and I am more inspired than ever to empower our teachers and students to become effective technology users.
