Absences

All assignments must be made up. It is important that your child have very limited absences. We do a lot of activities in class that are difficult to make-up. State law limits the amount of absences children can have.

  1. S/he that has been absent have a period equal to the number of days missed to complete make-up assignments.
  2. S/he can can obtain missed assignments from Google Classroom.

Conferences

Conferences are by appointment. Please email me to schedule a Google Meet Conference.

 

Grades

  1. Major Assessments include major projects and tests. They are 60% of the content grade.
  2. Minor Assessments include minor projects and quizzes. They are 40% of the content grade.

Homework

Periodic homework is recorded in student agendas. It will also be posted on our unique Google Classroom website.

 

Interactive Notebook

The Interactive Notebook is a tool that students use to show that they are understanding what has been taught in class each day and gives them an opportunity to share some of their creativity with the class.

 

Personal Electronic Devices

Students may not bring their personal electronic devices (iPad, Chromebook, or laptop) to class for school use.

 

Quiet Signal

To get the children's attention or the noise level is getting too high, I say “Knock Knock,” “Ring Ring,” or “Give Me Five.” Children follow with the sign and say “Who’s there?” or “Hello?” Everyone’s hand should be raised with their palm facing me actively listening.

 

Restroom and Drinking Fountain

Children have opportunities to go to the restroom independently. Only one girl and one boy may go at a time. They will grab a restroom pass to show that someone has gone.

Seating

The class is organized by tables.

 

Supplies

Children will need their agenda and Chromebook. Other supplies are optional.

 

Tardies

Attendance is checked daily. Children must be in the classroom when the tardy bell rings. It is important that your child arrives to school/ class on time and prepared. Tardiness causes disruptions in the classroom and your child can miss out in important activities. Tardies are documented on communication cards.
