English Language Arts

The English Language Arts Department at McCulloch Intermediate School and Highland Park Middle School empowers students to become confident readers, effective writers, and critical thinkers. Through a vertically aligned curriculum grounded in TEKS and HPISD Standards, students build strong literacy skills while exploring literature, informational texts, research, vocabulary, grammar, and writing across multiple genres. As students progress through grades 5–8, they develop the analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills necessary for success in high school and beyond.
