Language Other Than English

In grades 5 and 6, students are introduced to Spanish through exploratory coursework that develops foundational language skills and cultural understanding.Throughout fifth and sixth grade, students build a strong foundation in Spanish, progressing from the Novice Low to the Novice Mid proficiency level. Fifth-grade students attend Spanish daily for one quarter of the school year, while sixth-grade students attend Spanish twice each week throughout the academic year.

In grades 7 and 8, students may continue their language studies through Spanish Foundations as well as high school credit courses in Spanish and French. These courses provide students with a strong foundation in language acquisition while preparing them for advanced world language opportunities in high school and beyond.
