Dr. Greg Rico
HPMS Assistant Principal
Dr. Rico is in his 6th year at HPMS, his 23rd year in Highland Park, and 30th year in education. prior to beginning his administrative tenure, Dr. Rico has served HPISD as a special education teacher, high school counselor, and special education coordinator at HPHS and HPMS, and personal counselor for MIS/HPMS.
He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in Psychology in 1987, completed his educational certification in psychology, biology, counseling,and special education as well as earned his Master's degree in Special Education from University of North Texas in 1991. In 2001, he completed training and hours to be a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Recently, Dr. Rico has completed his Doctoral degree in April, 2020 at Dallas Baptist University.
He has a daughter who is a junior at Baylor University studying nursing and two dachshund named Audrey Mae & Ms. Polly. He enjoys playing softball and volleyball.
