Sixth Grade

Sixth grade is a year of increased independence and choice as students prepare for the transition to Highland Park Middle School.
Students continue their studies in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies while building critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Unlike fifth grade, sixth grade students begin personalizing their schedules through elective choices. Students select a year-long Fine Arts course—Art, Band, Choir, Orchestra, or Theatre—and a second elective from Fine Arts or Academic Electives, including STEM Integrations and Creative Writing.
