Math & Science Team Places 3rd at TMSCA State

Math & Science Team Places 3rd at TMSCA State
The MIS/HPMS Math & Science Team traveled to San Antonio this past weekend to compete in the TMSCA Middle School State Championship, earning 3rd place overall in the 5A division sweepstakes.
TMSCA, founded in 1981, promotes excellence in math and science through academic competition. This year, 541 students from 48 Division 5A schools qualified for the state meet.
Several students also earned top individual honors, including:
- Anna Markin – 1st place, 7th Grade Science
- Stella Chen – 2nd place Math; 3rd place Science (7th Grade)
- Andrew Schmidl – 3rd place, 6th Grade Science
- Samuel Wang – 4th place, 6th Grade Math
- Additional top-10 finishes by Lily Shi, Jackson Xu, and Louis He
Additional students placing in the top 20 included Nalin Krishna, Lucy Hua, Hanson Lou, Mingbo Zhang, Liam Fan, Hayden Ernst, Dion Sun, Tianyi Kang, Andrew Chen, and AJ Singh.
