Raiders awarded George Washington Honor Medals in national competition

Thirty HPMS eighth graders won George Washington Honor Medals for their essays that were entered into a nationwide contest sponsored by the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge (FFVF.)
Eighth-grade students from Kay Keeland's, Katrina Hallman's and Julie Grigsby's classes wrote essays in October on the topic, "Why might helping others be an important component of responsible citizenship?" The students will be recognized at an awards dinner on Thursday, Feb. 21 at the FFVF Dallas Chapter George Washington's birthday celebration.
