Lauren Caldwell, M.Ed. DHH
Highland Park Middle School
7/8 Special Education Coordinator

Hello Raider Nation! I am so excited to join the Highland Park family and serve as the Special Education Coordinator at HPMS this school year! I am looking forward to partnering with you in your child’s education and celebrating the progress they will make throughout the year.

I hold a Bachelors degree in Sociology and Development and Family Studies from UNT, as well as a Masters degree in Special Education with a specialty in Deaf/Hard of Hearing from Texas Tech. This year marks my 16th year working in the public school system, and I continue to be passionate about advocating for and supporting students with diverse learning needs. Throughout my career, I have held many positions within special education, including as a paraprofessional, an in-class support, co-teach, and resource teacher. Additionally, I have been a teacher in various self-contained classrooms, as well as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and an ARD Facilitator. These roles, across multiple districts, have given me a well-rounded perspective and deep understanding of how to support students, families, and staff effectively.

I have a 19 year old son, Caden, who is majoring in Finance and his fraternity at East Texas A&M. In my free time, I love to snuggle my three 70+ pound dogs, watch brainless reality TV or true crime, work in my garden, and do all kinds of crafts and crochet!
