About Miss Ruiz

I was born and raised in Austin, Texas and so was my family! I went against my family tradition and went to the University of Oklahoma for my undergraduate degree in Sociology. I moved back to Austin and started teaching 7th grade Math for 3 years at Canyon Ridge Middle School. I just moved here to end long distance with my boyfriend who works at UT Southwestern and am loving what Dallas has to offer. Outside of school, I love to work out (yoga, run, pilates), baking and cooking, hiking, gardening, shopping, and exploring new places in Dallas! I'm SO happy to be teaching at this amazing school and getting to know your amazing kiddos!

Retesting Procedures

MAJOR ASSESSMENTS:

If your child scores below a 70% on a Major Assessment, he or she will be required to attend tutorials and retake the test for a maximum score of 85%. Retake tutorials and retest dates will be announced in class.

If your child score between a 70% and an 84%, he or she has the option to retake the test for a maximum score of 85%. Retest dates will be announced in class.

MINOR ASSESSMENTS:

Your child may make corrections to earn half points back on any minor assessment. Due dates for corrections will be announced in class.
