Middle School Girl Scouts set to start new year

HPMS seventh-grade Cadette Girl Scout Troop 4905 is ready to kick off another great year. Last fall, after Hurricane Harvey hit southeast Texas, the girls voted to donate the proceeds from their two fundraisers to The Humane Society of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. HSSETX is not only recovering from hurricane damage, but also a devastating fire in 2016. The troop raised money by selling cookies and running two booths at the annual Girl Scout Holiday Bazaar, donating a total of $1,171.11 to HSSETX.
Another highlight of the year was a mother/daughter trip to historic Savannah, Ga., where Girl Scouts was founded in 1912. Some favorites activities were a carriage ride through the historic district, participating in the Girl Scout Militia program at Old Fort Jackson, a dolphin-watching cruise, an after-dark ghost walk tour, a pirates' dinner, and touring some of the most famous historic mansions of Savannah.
