Campus Instructional Technologist
MIS/HPMS
A201
I am excited to continue to serve MIS/HPMS this year by supporting meaningful ways for classroom teachers to integrate technology and support content areas with the Technology Applications TEKS. Working with teachers and students is energizing and creative. From helping to open a locker, to seeing creativity come to life with a green screen, and hearing silly riddles, I always have a good story to tell about intermediate students. I have been a teacher for 28 years in a variety of grade levels; from my first teaching years at University Park Elementary as a second grade teacher to the fifth grade science lab at MIS. I am thrilled to now include the role of Campus Instructional Technologist to my school experience.

As a native Texan from Richardson, I grew up with my family of four enjoying the outdoors at our lakehouse on Lake Tawakoni. Many a summer was spent fishing, skiing, tubing and firefly-capturing. Growing up I was always involved in team sports like volleyball, softball, doubles tennis and soccer. I still enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and swimming with my two daughters.

My family moved to Michigan where I attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo to complete my undergraduate degree in elementary education before moving back to Texas. While I was a fourth grade teacher at UP I earned a master’s degree in elementary education with an endorsement in gifted and talented, from the University of North Texas. I continued my graduate education while working at a local private school in Dallas, earning a second master’s degree in educational administration with principal certification.

I see my role as the Campus Instructional Technologist as a classroom support to teachers and students, helping them integrate technology tools within core curriculum to enhance learning. I look forward to continuing to support the Raider Nation!
