Full Year Courses (8th Grade)

8TH GRADE ADVANCED  ART (FA18GA)  This course is designed for 8th-grade students who are very excited about art! It is a year-long class which enables the student to deepen their knowledge and skills in all areas. They will explore artists, media, and advanced techniques in drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculptural pieces. Students will also be involved in the creation and production of the school Artzine, “The Puffin.” This class may also take field trips to local art museums.

The class is preparing students for art in high school. The class is making sure they not only have the skillset and technique to create art but also the confidence to take on any type of creative challenge they encounter. This class gives them the right outlook to work well when collaborating with fellow peers, but also the skills needed to work to their highest ability independently.
