Module 5: Parent Involvement

One of the Core Beliefs of Highland Park ISD is fostering strong parent partnerships. To support that belief MIS provides parents a number of ways to be involved in their student's education and, in fact, relies on parent involvement throughout the year just like our elementary campuses.

From volunteering in the cafeteria to serving on a campus committee and joining the PTO, parents can find volunteer opportunities that best fit their schedule and interests.

Parent Involvement Opportunities:

  • Join the MIS/HPMS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Information to join is sent to school families at the start of each school year.
  • Volunteer in the Raider Cafeteria, learn more here.
  • Learn more about the Parent Education Committee

In the fall, be sure to sign up to volunteer at your student's school. The HPISD Volunteer Registration Consent Form must be completed each year and includes a background check.

Parents make a difference through the Raider Challenge, a general underwriting campaign that provides parents and community partners with an opportunity to give directly to the school. All the money raised goes directly to MIS/HPMS and is critical to keeping our middle school covered for the upcoming school year and prepared for the future. Click here to learn more.
