5th grade social studies

House of Lockhart

My name is Jack Leutz and this is my 12th year at MIS.  The social studies department has the privilege this year of telling the story of our great nation.  We are looking forward to transforming our students' knowledge of this content and making it come alive. We also will be working to implement even more reading and writing than we have in the past.   

I love, love, love sports, and hope the Cowboys have a great season.  My favorite sport is basketball, though, and I am a HUGE Mavericks fan.  I enjoy reading and gardening and golfing and cooking.  I adore time with my wife, Cheri, who is a supervisor and staff attorney at Dallas CASA, working to advocate for abused and neglected children.  We just had our first child three years ago, a beautiful girl named Ellison, and we are enamored with her.  Teaching is a job I would come to even without getting paid, if I could swing it, and I am very excited about this year.
